Jay Baruchel is an actor and director best known for voicing Hiccup in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, along with roles in Tropic Thunder, She’s Out of My League, This Is the End, and Blackberry. He’s the star of the new film The Stunt Driver, which is in theaters September 25!
Jay took time to answer our 16 questions about the movies and movie experiences that have made his life sweeter.

Danny Trejo’s death scene in Heat

The shootout after the bank robbery in Heat. I could watch that three times a day every day for the rest of my life.

6. Theater snack of choice
I’m crippled by a sweet tooth, so probably Glosette Raisins or Reese’s Pieces
7. A performance that makes you LOL

William Shatner in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
9. Favorite childhood movie memory
My dad taking me to see Jurassic Park in the theater. I was 11 so still small enough that the theater screen felt really, really giant. The first time the T-rex shows up, there’s nothing like that.
10. Movie you saw way too young
Die Hard 2. There’s a lot of people just getting riddled with bullets.
11. Movie world you want to live in
Who Framed Roger Rabbit seems like it’d be fun, at least for a few days.
12. Favorite movie needle-drop
I co-wrote a hockey movie called Goon, and there’s a cue from an opera by Puccini called Turandot. When Doug drives his fist into the ice and gets back up in the midst of the climactic fight and the opera starts firing, that’s pretty sick.
13. Movie quote you use a lot
I think I use commercial quotes more than anything. One I say a lot is “You got it, Pontiac,” which was a slogan in some Pontiac commercials in the ’80s.
14. Movie you want played at your funeral
The Wrong Guy with Dave Foley, in my opinion the funniest movie ever made.
